Cold Town is an Edinburgh based craft brewery. Established in 2018, our beer is now a popular fixture on draft in pubs across Scotland and we are rapidly expanding into the off trade. To support this expansion, the Brewery is currently looking for a Brewery Operative to join their fast-paced production team at Dunedin Street.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will join a small team working across all areas of the packaging, brewing and delivery processes. Initially, the main focus of the role will be in packaging and stock management.
  • Reporting to the Packaging manager, you will work on a shift basis, based on the needs of production:
  • Assisting with the completion of kegging and stock management operations.
  • Assisting with the completion of brewing, cellar and filtration operations where it is required.
  • CIP (Clean in Place) of vessels.
  • Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping throughout the production facility.
  • Ensuring production and stock records are accurate and up to date.
  • Quality testing (and tasting).
  • There may also be the occasional requirement to represent the company at trade shows and customer facing events.
  • Core working hours will normally be 40 hrs per week with shifts possible between 6am and 10pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working. Typical shifts will run 7am-3pm and 1pm-9pm (40 hrs) or as agreed with your line manager.
  • It may be necessary from time to time for you to work at one of our other sites in central Edinburgh.
  • Key Competencies and Experience:
    • Experience working in a brewery with knowledge of brewing/packaging processes or working in a food manufacturing environment would be beneficial but not essential.
    • Good numerical skills and the ability to work as part of a team and independently without supervision is required.
    • The role suits a friendly, dynamic individual with a passion for great beer and a drive to learn about brewing.
    • A full, clean, UK driver's licence is preferable but not essential; FLT certificate highly desirable.
