What You’ll Be Doing

As an asylum seeker welfare support worker you will provide essential onsite support, focusing on the practical, emotional, and social needs of individuals navigating the asylum process.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Welfare Monitoring: Actively monitoring the wellbeing of asylum seekers in accommodation.
  • Practical Support: Offering guidance on accessing essential services, such as health, education, and legal aid, and assisting with asylum support.
  • Emotional & Social Support: Providing support and helping individuals adjust to a new environment, often managing complex cases and vulnerability.
  • Safe Accommodation & Safeguarding: Ensuring residents' safety, addressing safeguarding issues, and liaising with Supervisors/Managers.
  • Communication: Acting as a key point of contact for service users.

What We’re Looking For

  • You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Flexibility in your availability, with the ability to travel to different care settings.
  • A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • A clear enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
  • Driving license and use of a vehicle.
