We are seeking a
Inclusive Support Practitioner
to join our team. In this role you will provide an inclusive environment with dedicated support that enables learners with additional needs to fully access and engage with their learning activities, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their maximum potential in their chosen course of study.

Part time, 2-5 days a week, 36 weeks a year, Colchester and/or Braintree Campus

About the role:
Provide in-person or virtual support to designated learners across various courses. This may include assisting with literacy and numeracy skills, helping learners maintain focus during sessions, breaking tasks into manageable steps, running 'out of class' group support sessions and supporting the management of disruptive or challenging behaviour. Work primarily under the guidance of a tutor to support learners, encourage their independence, and contribute to raising learners' expectations and achievements, by providing clear detailed feedback, regular reviews and monitoring the support level. Should have a good understanding of SPaG (spelling, punctuation, and grammar) to support learners by correcting their work (not assessing), while also helping to develop and challenge learners towards greater independence. Support learners' access to college by providing general mobility support as required. This includes assisting learners to move safely around the campus, supporting with wheelchair use. Maintain accurate and timely records of learner progress using college IT systems, including writing reports and reviewing Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to monitor and support the needs and outcomes of a designated caseload of learners. Assist learners in the safe and proper use of ICT course-related equipment, assistive technology and providing necessary training and guidance. Essential Experience:

An awareness of the purpose of learning support within education. Confident user of ICT including internet, e-mail, word, Microsoft Teams etc. An understanding and strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Essential Qualifications:
Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (or equivalent). Why join us?
