We’re looking for an inspiring, hourly paid Lecturer in Dance/Musical Theatre to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching to students on our Level 2 and Level 3 Performing Arts courses. You'll also play a key role in supporting learners through pastoral and tutorial duties, helping them thrive both personally and academically. About the Role:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching in further education, including lesson preparation, assessment, marking, student guidance, and course promotion. Specialisms include tap, commercial, jazz, ballet, musical theatre, and choreography.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and course leaders to ensure consistent, high-quality programme delivery.
  • Lead curriculum development, incorporating Technology Enhanced Learning and innovative teaching methods.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students throughout teaching and assessment.
  • Maintain quality standards through internal and external verification processes, reporting outcomes as needed.
  • Monitor student progress in line with awarding body standards and support achievement improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Education to degree level or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
  • Relevant Teacher training / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
Essential Experience:
  • Ability to teach Jazz, Tap, Commercial, Ballet techniques, Musical Theatre Techniques, and choreography.
  • Effective and consistent high-quality teaching and learning experience within Further and/or Higher Education.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of working with learners with a wide range of needs.
