We are looking for a Learning Resources and Student Hub Assistant to provide a warm, professional first point of contact for visitors, students and staff at our Braintree campus. This varied role is central to ensuring a positive student experience, supporting Learning Resources services and broader college processes throughout the student journey.

Job Title: Learning Resources and Student Hub Assistant

Type: Part time, Maternity Cover, 27 hours a week, 40 weeks a year.

What you\’ll do

  • Deliver a friendly and efficient service as the first point of contact in the Student Hub and Learning Resources areas.
  • Respond to enquiries, provide accurate information and signpost students and visitors to appropriate services.
  • Issue visitor passes, temporary student IDs and support campus security and emergency procedures.

Learning Resources Support

  • Use the Library Management System to issue, renew, return and track resources.
  • Maintain library stock, including shelving, organising, repairing, processing new items, and ensuring accessibility.
  • Provide day-to-day support alongside other Learning Resources staff to keep the service running effectively.

Curriculum & Administrative Support

  • Support nominated curriculum areas with admissions tasks, applications, arranging interviews and monitoring attendance in line with college procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support such as taking minutes, generating reports, and producing high-quality written materials.
  • Build effective working relationships with staff across the campus to ensure smooth processes and excellent service.

Support for Key College Processes

  • Assist with enrolment, induction, parent events, open evenings, student interviews, progress boards and other key activities throughout the year.
  • Support the examinations process by securely managing papers and materials, preparing invigilator packs, storing scripts and helping process results and certificates for Braintree students.
