We are seeking a Lecturer - Course Leader - Media to join our team. In this role you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Further and Higher Education programmes while providing leadership and oversight for designated courses. You will be responsible for curriculum planning and development, monitoring student progress and achievement, ensuring compliance with quality and awarding body requirements, and driving continuous improvement. You will also support and mentor colleagues, act as a key point of contact for students, and contribute to programme promotion, recruitment, and the creation of an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
About the role:
- Responsible for the whole study programme overseeing the academic quality, delivery, enrichment, student outcomes and course administration.
- To monitor standards of students' work against awarding organisation guidelines and to raise achievement levels.
- Working with area leadership teams to ensure management of quality assurance and provision. Ensuring appropriate requirements are met for external verification.
- Lead on modelling best practice through the development of subject curricula to include Technology Enhanced Learning and innovative delivery methods.
- Comprehensive teaching responsibilities (designing schemes of work, assessing, preparation, delivery, marking, individual student tutoring).
- Designing, developing, and reviewing curriculum materials in line with programme specifications and quality assurance frameworks.
- Delivering engaging and innovative teaching using a variety of pedagogical approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
Essential Experience:
- Experience of managing and motivating young learners (Secondary/16-19yr olds).
- Experience of undertaking a pastoral role and effectively using individual learning planning to raise achievement.
- Proven leadership experience, including team management, decision-making, and the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Teaching or delivering training experience.
- Ability to teach a good range of the following subject areas: Film and TV, Content Creation, Print Media, AI, Other related fields.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education to degree level and/or above in required subject or equivalent.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification/ completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
