About the role:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment, including planning schemes of work, preparing lessons, marking, and providing individual tutorial support.
  • Contribute to course leadership duties in line with Band 2 Lecturer responsibilities, including curriculum development, administration, and pastoral support.
  • Work collaboratively with the Area Head, Assistant Area Head, and course leaders to maintain outstanding quality across curriculum delivery.
  • Participate in internal and external verification processes.
  • Monitor and raise achievement in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills.
  • Engage fully with the College appraisal and staff development programme.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the College.

Essential Experience:

  • Significant recent experience of teaching learners aged 14‑16/16‑18 who are disadvantaged and experience barriers to learning.
  • Experience of teaching students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
  • Level 3 qualification in English and/or Maths.
  • Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
