We are seeking a Careers and Employability Adviser to join our team. In this role you will deliver high-quality, impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to current and prospective learners including those with SEND, enabling them to make informed decisions about education, training and employment.

About the role:

  • Deliver impartial, confidential and professional one-to-one careers guidance interviews, drop-in sessions and planned interventions for learners across a range of programmes and levels.
  • Provide accurate advice on progression routes including further education, higher education, apprenticeships, employment, training and volunteering.
  • Plan and deliver engaging group sessions, workshops and tutorials aligned to the College Careers Programme and Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of careers events, including careers fairs, employer talks, HE and apprenticeship events, progression activities and outreach opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers, training providers, higher education institutions and external agencies to support learner progression.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of the Careers Service through learner feedback, data analysis and reflective practice.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of careers guidance practice, labour market trends, qualification pathways and sector developments.
  • Act in accordance with the ethical framework for careers guidance and professional standards.

Essential Experience:

  • Recent experience of delivering careers education and/or careers guidance in an education setting.
  • Experience supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, including those with additional needs (SEND) or barriers to progression.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A recognised qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance at Level 6 or above (or working towards with commitment to completion).
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
  • Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
