In this role you will provide inspirational teaching on a range of Accounting subjects for Level 2-4 programmes with strong achievement. You will also undertake other duties associated with the role of a Band 2 Course Leader.
About the role:- Teach effectively across a range of Accounting and Business courses at FE level.
- Design schemes of work/learning plans, session plans, assessment material, preparation of resources, delivery, marking and student interviewing/guidance.
- Carry out appropriate assessment activities including marking learners’ work, designing and setting assessed work.
- Monitor standards of learners’ work against awarding body guidelines using effective tracking systems and work closely with the lead internal moderator/co-ordinator to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Provide effective personal and academic tutorial support for learner groups through Individual Learning Plans as well as providing support and guidance to learners during teaching, tutorials and assessment activities.
- Experience of delivering Accounting related subjects reflecting recent changes in industry and including the use of modern technology.
- Experience of managing and motivating young learners (Secondary/16-19yr olds).
- Experience of undertaking a pastoral role and effectively using individual learning planning to raise achievement.
- Education to level 5 or above and/or a professional qualification (e.g. AAT L4) in relevant subject area or equivalent.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English Language and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above or equivalent.
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
