We are seeking a dedicated Security Manager to join the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of facility operations across Colchester Institute. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all staff members and learners.
About this role:
- Lead, manage and develop the College's security teams to ensure the safety and security of staff, students, visitors, and assets at all times.
- Ensure effective implementation and ongoing development of the College ID policy, promoting full compliance among all stakeholders.
- Plan, develop, and implement security measures and emergency preparedness plans to minimise risk and respond effectively to incidents.
- Manage car park operations including equipment maintenance, payment processes, and monitoring compliance for staff and students.
- Provide specialist advice to management on security considerations relating to estates planning, car parking operations, and campus development.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners—including Student Services, Safeguarding Officers, curriculum teams, and senior leaders—particularly in relation to safeguarding, wellbeing, and the Prevent Duty.
Essential Experience:
- Management Experience in Security Management Role
- Experience in Emergency planning
- Safeguarding experience
Essential Qualifications:
- SIA accredited or similar industry standard
- Recent industry relevant training including: Conflict Resolution, Difficult Conversation Training, De-escalation tactics
