The predicted salary is between 800 - 1000 £ per month.

Reporting to the Production Manager and working within the Operations team, the Business Admin Apprentice is responsible for providing administrative assistance in managing clients, quotes and keeping production records up to date.

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 with a 1 hour unpaid lunch each day. 40 hours a week.

Duration: 1 year 6 months.

What you’ll do at work Duties of the Business Administrator Apprentice include:

  • Assisting in daily office needs and managing our company's general administrative activities.
  • General filing and office duties.
  • Assist the Production Manager.
  • Gain an understanding of products and manufacturing drawings.
  • Create and print delivery notes.
  • Assist with transport planning.
  • Assist with buying.
  • Provide administrative support to the team.
  • Keeping computer databases up to date.
  • Collecting and inputting company data.

Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:

  • Write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data.
  • Choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem.
  • Update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
  • Produce accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
  • Draft correspondence, write reports and review others' work.
  • Maintain records and files, handle confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures.
  • Coach others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively.

Completes tasks to a high standard. Demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks and applies themself to continuously improve their work.

Is able to review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvements. Shares administrative best-practice across the organisation e.g. coaches others to perform tasks correctly.

Applies problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints and is a key point of contact for addressing issues.

Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines.

Positively manages the expectations of colleagues at all levels and sets a positive example for others in the workplace.

Manages resources e.g. equipment or facilities. Organises meetings and events, takes minutes during meetings and creates action logs as appropriate.

Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report. Plans required resources to successfully deliver projects.

The apprentice will be working towards the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard including a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma for the Business Administrator.

Requirements: GCSE in Maths and English (grade A*-E/9-2), GCSE in IT (grade A*-C/9-4), Maths and English (grade A*-C/9-4).

This is an office-based role, with long hours sitting at a computer.
