We are offering an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to join us as Assistant Area Head in Mechanical and Electrical Services. About the Role. In this Band 2 role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality Electrical Installation education, using your technical expertise to guide learners in a modern, well-resourced environment designed to reflect real-world practice. Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you will support the operational management of our Electrical programmes—overseeing staff, coordinating resources and helping to drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. As a member of the area leadership team, you will contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement and the strategic development of the department. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or a qualified professional eager to share your knowledge, this role offers the opportunity to lead, inspire and make a lasting impact.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualified electrician in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, including AM2 assessment and NVQ.
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade 4+/C or equivalent).
  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification, or willingness to complete within 3 years of employment (or within 3 years of the first available course).
  • Assessor/Verifier Awards, or willingness to achieve within six months of starting.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in leading teams or managing staff within an educational or professional setting.
  • Strong background in training or teaching, with a proactive approach to curriculum development, course promotion and marketing.
  • Solid practical experience within the electrical or related industries.
