We are seeking a competent and motivated Electrical Installations Assessor to join our wonderful college. The successful candidate will manage and support a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through their NVQ qualification, portfolio development, and End Point Assessment, while maintaining strong employer relationships and high standards of quality and compliance.
About the Role:
- Manage a caseload of Electrical Installation apprentices, supporting them through their NVQ qualification and portfolio development.
- Conduct workplace assessments and deliver classroom-based support where required, monitoring, reviewing, and recording apprentice progress in line with awarding body and college requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with employers to support apprentice development and to help progress full-time learners into apprenticeships.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and records, working closely with Apprentice Coaches and curriculum teams to ensure timely achievement and completion of qualifications.
- Keep up to date with current industry standards, awarding body requirements, and Health & Safety legislation, continually developing personal professional expertise and contributing to business development initiatives where appropriate.
- Prepare and guide apprentices through End Point Assessment (EPA), ensuring they are fully ready and confident to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset, working effectively as part of a wider team to support learner success.
- Adhere to and actively promote the Collegeβs policies and practices, including Safeguarding, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, College Values, and Health & Safety.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role, as determined by the College.
Essential Requirements:
- Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
- 2391 qualification in testing and inspection.
- Level 3 NVQ in electrical installation.
- AM2/ Am2s.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent or will achieve.
- Assessor/Verifier Awards desirable.
Essential Experience:
- Substantial, relevant industry experience.
- An Assessor and/or IQA qualification (desirable).
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use or the means to be able to get to locations covering Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.
- Confidence using IT systems and digital tools.
