We are seeking a dedicated Course Leader in Foundation & Supported Learning. Our vision is to deliver high-quality, holistic education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to succeed in further education, employment, and adult life. This is achieved through a carefully balanced curriculum combining qualification-based and enrichment activities, underpinned by shared values and a commitment to inclusive practice.
About the role:
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, including planning schemes of work, preparing lessons, marking, and providing individual tutorial support.
- Contribute to course leadership duties in line with Band 2 Lecturer responsibilities, including curriculum development, administration, and pastoral support.
- Work collaboratively with the Area Head, Assistant Area Head, and course leaders to maintain outstanding quality across curriculum delivery.
- Participate in internal and external verification processes.
- Monitor and raise achievement in line with awarding body requirements.
- Maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills.
- Engage fully with the College appraisal and staff development programme.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the College.
Essential Experience:
- Significant recent experience of teaching learners aged 14-16/16-18 who are disadvantaged and experience barriers to learning.
- Experience of teaching students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
Essential Qualifications:
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
- Level 3 qualification in English and/or Maths.
- Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
