Due to expansion of our Helpline Service across North Essex, we have a number of vacancies available to join our team. We are seeking individuals with a customer focused approach who are looking for a flexible role that supports community work across North Essex. This dual role covers the monitoring centre and the Helpline service.

The Helpline is established for over 25 years and offers a telecare monitoring and falls response service to residents of North Essex. The role involves responding to customers who have fallen in their homes. With specialist lifting equipment, we aim to safely assist customers and leave them comfortable at home. There is a significant digital transition of Helpline equipment, and you will support this roll out by installing new equipment.

A calm, methodical and caring personality is required. No previous experience in the above roles is needed as training and support will be provided.

You must have a full clean driving licence, as you will be driving one of our fleet of branded automatic vehicles used in the Helpline role. Preferably, you will have an enhanced DBS Check with Barring required and an SIA CCTV License. If successful, you will be expected to pass an enhanced DBS check and a full medical assessment.

On-the-job training will be provided for both roles.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring Centre – You will answer all incoming Helpline alarm calls and out of hours respond to Colchester City Council calls and Colchester Borough Homes housing repairs.
  • You will also observe a network of high definition, digital CCTV cameras through Colchester City Centre, liaising with a range of businesses and teams across the city and with the emergency services where necessary.
  • You will be required to work various shifts as we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You must be able to cover the full range of shifts across the 7-day week, with the following set shift times:

  • Preferred: enhanced DBS Check with Barring, and an SIA CCTV Licence.
  • If successful, you will be expected to pass an enhanced DBS check and a full medical assessment.
