Build your finance career in a growing property business. We are looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join the Colby River Property Management finance team in Altrincham. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting beyond the numbers. You will take ownership of management accounts across a portfolio of properties, work closely with operational teams and provide the financial insight that helps us understand performance, control costs and make better commercial decisions. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will have plenty of exposure across the business and the opportunity to influence how we develop our financial reporting, systems and processes.

What you will be doing:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple sites, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and commentary.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
  • Supporting annual budgets and regular forecasting.
  • Working closely with operational and on-site teams to understand performance against budget.
  • Identifying variances, risks and opportunities and helping the business take appropriate action.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and governance.
  • Supporting year-end audit, statutory accounts and internal reviews.
  • Translating financial information into clear, useful insight for non-finance colleagues.
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis to support senior management decision-making.
  • Helping us continually improve our financial reporting, systems and processes.

What we are looking for:

We are open-minded about your route into accounting. You could be AAT qualified, CIMA/ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or qualified by experience. Ideally, you will already have experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant, with property or property management experience particularly welcome.

Why join Colby River?

This isn't a role where you'll simply produce a set of accounts and move on to the next month-end. You'll work closely with our Finance Director, accounts team, central operations and teams based at our properties, giving you genuine exposure to both the financial and operational sides of the business. It's an opportunity to develop your commercial finance experience, build strong relationships across the organisation and have a real influence on how our properties perform. The role is based in Altrincham, with our hybrid working policy requiring at least three days per week in the office. There may also be occasional travel to our properties and London office, expected to be less than 10% of the role. If you're an ambitious Management Accountant or an Assistant Management Accountant ready to take the next step and want a role where you can combine strong technical accounting with genuine commercial involvement, we'd love to hear from you.

What We Offer:

  • Salary Range: £46,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
  • Employer-matched pension scheme.
  • Life insurance at three times your annual salary.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement, with the option to buy more.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Retail, leisure and lifestyle discounts.
  • Employee wellbeing support.
