Our client is looking for an experienced Learning and Development Officer to provide a support service for the effective delivery of learning and development programmes within the People Directorate and its external customers in Sutton. The role involves:
- Co-ordinating learning and development activities and supporting strategic multi-agency partnership groups to achieve strategic learning and development objectives.
- Carrying out independent but low risk interventions/assessments to identify customer needs or deliver services directly to customers.
- Assisting more experienced colleagues in delivering complex service activities/assessments to meet or identify customer needs and develop own skills and experience.
- Providing advice and support to customers using Council procedures and policies.
- Supervising the tasks and activities of other team members, including prioritising and scheduling of work.
- Assisting in the collection, collation and analysis of statistical data and information from a variety of sources.
- Focusing on details and producing accurate data and information.
- Exhibiting excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Effectively organising the use of time and achieving deadlines.
- Demonstrating well-developed IT skills, including Excel, Word, Google Docs and PowerPoint.
- Having good communication skills and proven ability to handle customer-facing contacts.
- Willingness to use a variety of computer-based systems which support the role.
- Responding flexibly to the needs of the service at short notice.
- Attending and contributing to relevant team meetings, forums, groups and learning events.
