Our client is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner - Human Resources.
This role involves:
- Working closely and proactively in providing high-level specialist advice on attendance, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Handling complex case-work activity, advising and supporting at hearings, appeals, and employment tribunals.
- Providing HR support at hearings and appeals, including advice to panels up to and including termination of contract.
- Ensuring learning from casework is shared with the team and reflected in updated guidance.
- Supporting the development, review, and implementation of HR strategies and policy for the Council and schools.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners in responding to and progressing claims made by employees and ex-employees to Employment Tribunal Claims.
- Working with legal teams to collate documents, prepare witness statements, and attend employment tribunals.
- Risk assessing claims and leading on devising and negotiating suitable exit plans, which may include settlement agreements.
- Attending ETs and regulatory professional body hearings as the Council's HR witness/representative when required.
- Providing detailed expert HR advice to all levels of management, using a comprehensive understanding of various terms and conditions of employment.
- Leading on designated corporate-wide HR policy/procedural areas and acting as the team’s functional expert.
- Providing support and advice to managers regarding organisational transformation and workforce change.
- Responding to requests for consultancy work in schools, including independent investigatory activities.
- Supporting income generation for the HR Service through effective business partnering.
- Attending, contributing to, and leading internal HR and cross-service working groups, forums, and external meetings.
- Deputising for Senior HR Business Partners as required.
- Liaising, consulting, and negotiating with trade unions on HR processes.
- Creating, developing, and delivering briefings, coaching, and training on HR policy, procedure, and employment law.
- Contributing to E-learning platforms and associated systems.
- Understanding and providing appropriate advice on Job Evaluation processes and undertaking appeals.
- Providing regular and appropriate professional supervision to support, mentor, and develop HR Advisors.
- Analysing and interpreting workforce information, highlighting trends and recommending solutions.
- Leading and coordinating HR data requests and providing relevant information for SARs and FOIs.
- Representing the HR service and/or supporting senior leaders to deliver statutory requirements.
- Leading the operation of the HR Duty Desk on a rota basis.
