Our client is looking for an experienced Business Support Officer with a minimum of two years relevant experience of dealing directly with customers and partners.

  • Willingness to undertake first aid training.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers, partners and colleagues.
  • Able to plan and organise workloads and ensure completion of work to agreed standards.
  • Able to show an understanding and sympathetic attitude towards the bereaved.
  • Familiarity and competence with Windows based software.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Communicating in person, by telephone and in writing with customers and partners of the crematorium.
  • Carrying out a range of administrative tasks, including those associated with cremations.
  • Receiving payment for crematorium services, issuing receipts and keeping records in compliance with the Council’s financial regulations.
  • Assisting the team leader in building and maintaining effective relationships with the crematorium’s partners, such as funeral directors, officiants and suppliers of goods and services.
  • Assisting customers with enquiries relating to funerals and memorials.
  • Undertaking such other duties of a related nature as may be required for the proper and successful operation of the crematorium.
