Our client is looking for an experienced Assessment Officer.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of the UK welfare benefits system, including Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Personal Independence Payment and other statutory entitlements.
- Ability to assess financial situations and identify opportunities to increase income through benefits, grants, budgeting and debt advice.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, guidance and policy changes affecting welfare rights.
- IT literate, with experience using case management systems and online benefit tools.
- Experience working with vulnerable residents and the ability to conduct structured and sensitive interviews to gather relevant financial and personal information.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and sensitively.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and prioritise effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
