Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer

Lambeth

Contract: £23.51 per hour PAYE or £30.67 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Move On Officer. The client is looking for a number of roles within this area of expertise.

2 Days in the office - Monday and Tuesday.

As part of the Temporary Accommodation Move On team, you will work with households in temporary accommodation to move into settled accommodation. Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding their move on needs and matching them to suitable settled accommodation.
  • Supporting them to overcome any move on barriers and completing their discharge from temporary accommodation.
  • Working with the Lettings Negotiators to identify properties needed and match households to sourced properties.
  • Setting expectations about the most likely route into settled accommodation and advising households on actions to take.
  • Signposting households to relevant support for benefits or debt advice.
  • Managing a caseload of households ready to move on from temporary accommodation.
  • Reviewing information about households and updating housing needs assessments as necessary.
  • Making referrals for specialist accommodation and support where needed.
  • Liaising with other Council departments and external bodies to ensure offers of suitable accommodation are in place.
  • Supporting households to prepare for their move and understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Conducting property visits and home visits as required.
  • Issuing relevant discharge notifications to end homelessness duties and maintaining records.
  • Assisting with resettlement and addressing barriers to moving into offered properties.
  • Providing feedback to the Move On Team Lead to support efficient management of the team.
  • Liaising with other peer groups across housing and directorates to promote a joined-up approach.
