Our client is looking for an experienced Council Tax and Revenues Officer. Experience in CT billing and the MRI/Academy system is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely administration of Council Tax Billing in accordance with legislation to maximise collection of Council Tax.
  • Dealing directly with customers and stakeholders over the phone and in writing to provide an excellent service to residents.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Council Tax legislation and case law to enable accurate billing and maximise collection.
  • Working as a team member and contributing ideas to assist in improving the work and customer experience.
  • Providing a high-quality and customer-focused service giving advice on Council Tax through face-to-face interviews, telephone, and electronic channels.
  • Liaising with other internal teams and external agencies as required.
  • Prioritising and managing own workloads to ensure objectives and targets are achieved and customer requirements are met.
  • Complying with new and existing Council Tax legislation and working practices and being familiar with the Local Council Tax Reductions scheme.
  • Determining applications and reviews for discounts, exemptions, and disregards.
