Contract: £20.55 per hour PAYE or £26.79 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35.
Our client is looking for an experienced Casework Support Officer, 40% of the time in the office.
- Provide a centralised casework coordination function for Cabinet Members, ensuring all enquiries are accurately recorded, allocated and progressed through the Council’s corporate systems.
- Provide flexible administrative support to the Mayor and Cabinet Office.
- Act as the central point of receipt for casework submitted by Cabinet Members.
- Review incoming casework to ensure it is clear, appropriately framed and contains sufficient information for action.
- Log, upload and maintain casework records within the Council’s corporate casework management system on behalf of Cabinet Members, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Allocate casework to the appropriate service area for investigation and response, using sound judgement.
- Monitor progress of casework, following up with services where responses are delayed or incomplete to support timely resolution.
- Maintain clear and auditable records of casework activity in line with information governance requirements.
- Handle all casework with appropriate sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support across the Mayor and Cabinet Office.
- Assist with managing shared inboxes, correspondence and basic record-keeping.
- Support the preparation and coordination of meeting papers, briefings or general office documentation.
- Maintain strong and effective networks with Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Members and officers at all levels, within the Council.
- Carry out other duties as directed which may be required as part of the overall programme of work for the Mayor and Cabinet Office.
- Retain a flexible approach in order to respond to the variable requirements across the Chief Executive's division.
- Carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy and core values.
- Assist in carrying out the Council's environmental policy within the day-to-day activities of the post.
- Undertake other duties, commensurate with the grade, as may reasonably be required by the Head of Mayor's Office, including attending evening meetings and working outside normal office hours on a regular basis.
- All employees are required to participate in the Performance Review and Development Scheme (PRADS) and to undertake appropriate training and development identified to enhance their work.
