Our client is looking for an experienced Local Land Charges Officer for a contract role in Northampton, offering £13.47 per hour. The position requires 20 hours of work over 5 days, Monday to Friday, with mornings typically being 4 hours a day, although different hours can be agreed with the hiring manager. Initially, the role will be based in the Thrapston office for training, with flexibility for hybrid working post-training.

As a Local Land Charges Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a professional, customer-focused Local Land Charges (LLC) service and provide support with a range of administrative tasks. Your typical duties will include:

  • Receiving, validating, and processing official and personal Local Land Charge searches accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Responding to customer inquiries.
  • Calculating search fees and ensuring correct charges are applied.
  • Supporting the transfer of the register to HM Land Registry and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining databases and filing systems and managing queries received via the shared email mailbox, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Supporting the Local Land Charges Programme, including data discovery, data cleansing, and digitisation activities.
  • Playing a key role in service improvement, innovation, and identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
