Purpose of the Role
- To lead, review and enable the efficient delivery of the Project Control lifecycle in all major elements of the region / function programmes.
- To support project delivery through effective integration of Planning, Cost Management and Risk & Value Management activities.
- To drive improved predictability and delivery efficiencies through effective project performance measurement, evaluation and intervention activities.
- Act as a focal point for all project reporting enabling the swift transfer of business critical information.
Person Specification
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of an appropriate institution.
- Proven experience in team management, planning, management support of and delivery of projects.
- Demonstrable ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status).
- Demonstrable ability to develop and interpret Earned Value tools.
- In depth understanding of programme and project controls processes and systems.
- Knowledge and experience of investment principles, support disciplines (risk, estimating, planning, cost and value management) and their supporting technology solutions.
- Ability to undertake structured analysis to problems, engage stakeholders and lead the implementation of business-wide solutions.
- Experience in report writing, numerical data manipulation and system interrogation / analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and produce project information for onward reporting and dissemination.
- Control baseline Alliance documents and manage via an internal change process (docs to include Organisation, package profile, management plans, etc).
- Lead on the management of the change control process within the project portfolio to provide effective management of the baselines and associated change control processes.
- Lead the effective management and execution of the configuration management processes within the project and programme.
- Produce dashboards and metrics for onward distribution utilising a variety of data sources.
- Present project information in a user-friendly way, enabling the easy digest of project information.
- Produce and own the Project Management Plan.
- Lead the production of Earned Value metric and produce reporting packs acknowledging project status and describing any deviations.
- Record and manage critical notes and actions from the project periodic review.
- Produce metrics on CEMAR performance to support their progression.
- Help facilitate team/strategy days.
- Identify the critical resource requirements to support the projects and confirm that the supply and demand agreements are established in a timely manner to confirm continuity of resource availability.
- Lead the evaluation process on all aspects of the project/programme performance to determine the key causes of variance from the plan i.e. formulate corrective action plans with the project delivery teams and monitor effective implementation.
- Manage, collate and analyse data for all stakeholders to provide accurate and timely information in respect to the local KPIs.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
