Key Responsibilities

• To carry out repairs and maintenance to a high standard on a variety of On Track Machines operated by Colas Rail to ensure that the on-site reliability and safety is maintained in line with Colas Rail ROGS regulations.
• To provide additional technical and practical support to fitter/operators during in-Depot machine maintenance.
• When required to assist in any maintenance activities on Track Plant away from the Home depot.
• Reporting directly to the Maintenance Team Leader.

Person Specification

• To be able to work a shift pattern that will include nights and weekends.
• Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures when carrying out maintenance works.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and under own initiative without supervision.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and maintenance schedules.
• Physically fit and have passed the required company medical.
• Flexible, honest and reliable.
• Have an extensive knowledge and in-date competencies on a wide range of On Track Machines.
• Possess a structured methodical approach to problem solving.
• Demonstrate the ability to work equally as well as an individual or as part of a team.
• Have served any approved and appropriate apprenticeship either internal or external may be advantageous.
• Willingness to continue personal development through training.
