As a train driver, you will have the opportunity to work on various locomotives: from our class 37 loco’s to our class 43 powercars. You will be a key player to run our IM services in the Kent & Sussex region. You will be empowered to ensure a safe and reliable service operation of IM trains as a role model Train Driver offering a best in class service.
In your role, you will work with rostering and training teams, driver standards managers, delivery managers, and staff at all levels so that IM services could run safely, and on time.
Key Responsibilities: IM Train Drivers will be required to prep, drive and dispose of any services for which they have the competency to do so, in line with the duties provided to them by the business. They will also be expected to amend their duties at short notice wherever this is required in line with their T&C’s and rostering principles. Drivers will ensure they are familiar and remain up to date with all briefs, notices and updates issued by the business. Most pertinently, they will ensure they read, acknowledge and implement all safety and rail standards related documentation relevant to their role. They will also act in accordance with all processes and procedures set out by the organisation. Drivers will be expected to work with the company to ensure that their training/assessment and competencies are kept up to date.
Person Specification: Full and valid European Train Driving License, existing route knowledge covering the routes appropriate for the vacancy they have applied for, ensure safety of the line and all employees and public that may be affected by the operation of trains, a clean safety record, current PTS (third rail) appropriate to CTRL, flexibility with working shift patterns, a full UK driving license.
