An exciting opportunity has arisen for a supervisor to join our expanding South Rail Systems Alliance work bank. Based from our Chelmsford office, you will support the delivery of key rail infrastructure projects across the Eastern region, contributing to the maintenance and renewal of critical UK rail assets. This role is ideal for a supervisor looking to develop their career further, working on a varied track focus portfolio including Switches & Crossings (S&C), Plain Line, Drainage, Level Crossings and Re-Rail projects. The Supervisor will work closely within a delivery team supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of rail renewal projects. Open to applicants with a range of Track (Pway) based experience. It is imperative that the individual is eager to learn and demonstrates strong leadership and excellent team working behaviours.
Based in our Chelmsford Office you will work in the Eastern Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting and maintaining high safety standards
- Assisting with planning and coordination of site activities
- Responsible for all delivery stages from site prep to project close out (TOC)
- Working efficiently and in unison within a multi-disciplinary team
- Adapting to organisational changes and meeting operational requirements
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time
Person Specification
What attributes and skills are we looking for?
- A minimum of 2 years’ track renewals experience
- COSS and Track Chargeman experience. Other competencies such as Engineering Supervisor welcomed
- Varied competent experience of operating small tools
- Demonstrated consistently leading a gang / group of workers
- Examples of successfully working independently
- Accustomed to working within tight timescales ensuring quality of workmanship is not compromised
- Flexible work / life balance approach to responsibilities
- Proactive approach to managing activities safely
- Aim to progress and develop within the business towards a Site Manager role
