Purpose of the Role: The Finance department is responsible for undertaking the financial activities for the Midland Metro Alliance. This role is to support the Senior Commercial Manager to provide accurate data on the progress and performance of the various projects undertaken by the MMA.
Person Specification:
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent professional qualification in related subject
- Experience of working within a project environment
- Awareness of industry issues
- Able to assist in management of commercial finance
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
- An interest in commercial finance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in preparation and presentation of financial reports of the various projects of the MMA
- Assist with the Budgets and Business Plan preparation through liaising with the various stakeholders of the MMA
- Analysis of actual costs vs forecasts of Project Support and Programme Management
- Responsible for the management of the day-to-day financial aspects of contracts
- Input into project financial reporting and change control
- Undertake reviews with stakeholders to evaluate performance on a monthly basis
- Produces ad hoc reports independently
- Managing control activity including reconciliation, reporting and analysis of project activities
- Ensure that all monies committed are in line with the budget allowance, or where necessary, ensure compliance with change control process
- Proactively assist with instilling financial awareness throughout Colas Rail Limited
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time
