Purpose of the role Colas are looking for Zonal Response Team (ZRT) Operative working predominantly on night shift at our Bescot depot (WS1 4NL). You will work to instruction from the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring works orders are carried out on time and to required levels of quality. You will work safely at all times, complying with site rules and permitting regulations, always representing Colas in a professional manner. Main Responsibilities Your responsibilities as a ZRT Operative will be to safely carry out temporary defect repairs. You will apply safe methods of working to all activities. You will understand and follow procedures relating to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. You will understand and follow procedures relating to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome regulations (HAVS). To drive within the confines of The Road Traffic Act. You will operate machinery as required and directed by the Supervisor. You will Install/Remove Traffic Management as required. You will be available to work four days on and four days off, both daytime and nights including bank holiday working. You will ensure that all operations carried out within our area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself. You will ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be flexible / hardworking individuals who have experience in a similar highway’s maintenance environment and C1E driving experience. You will be enthusiastic and be able to work within a small team, working under minimal supervision. A valid UK Driving Licence (Essential) and HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you come from a strong Traffic Management work background. You will be in good physical health as the role can sometimes be physically demanding. DCPC, Traffic Management TTMBC is desirable.
