Reports to: Global Head of Portfolio
Your Role as Global Senior Brand Manager:
Since 1832, Winsor & Newton has combined artistic insight with scientific expertise to create exceptional art materials. In this global, end-to-end role, you will own the strategy, innovation and performance of key product portfolios – with particular focus on the Masterpiece and Gallery Classic ranges. Working within the Global Brand Team, you will partner cross-functionally with Sustainability & Innovation, Operations, Finance and regional markets to move ideas from early insight through to flawless global execution. You’ll balance deep empathy for artists with strong commercial rigour, ensuring every product has a clear consumer rationale, compelling reason-to-believe and premium craft cues worthy of a heritage icon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Insight: Continuously monitor consumer behaviour, cultural and category trends, competitor activity and customer needs. Translate insight into clear, actionable recommendations that ensure the Global Brand Team’s work remains relevant, distinctive and grounded in real artist needs.
- Brand Strategy & Planning: Interpret the Global Brand Strategy into a clear portfolio approach for allocated ranges, shaping innovation roadmaps, brand priorities and annual plans in partnership with Product Marketing. Ensure strategic choices are insight-led, commercially robust and support long-term brand equity and growth.
- Innovation & Renovation: Lead the end-to-end innovation and renovation process for assigned ranges, with particular focus on Masterpiece and Gallery Classic portfolios. Own proposition development, positioning, pricing and packaging direction, ensuring the portfolio drives competitiveness, margin and consumer demand.
- Product & Shopper Excellence: Develop product messaging, reasons-to-believe and commercial toolkits for allocated ranges, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and strategic direction. Brief Creative and Digital teams and support the development of packaging, POS and shopper materials to enable strong execution in-market.
- Market Leadership: Act as a key interface with regional and local markets, building strong relationships, sharing insight and championing best practice. Support market-led growth opportunities while maintaining global brand consistency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) with proven experience in brand management, ideally within innovation-led or portfolio-driven environments.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience shaping pricing, portfolios and ROI-driven brand decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, global projects cross-functionally.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A consumer-centric mindset with genuine empathy for artists; a personal interest in art or a creative background is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in a second language would be desirable.
