The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Poker Tournament Manager to take ownership of CoinPoker’s tournament vertical — from strategy to execution. This role is central to delivering a world-class tournament product that aligns with our brand, fuels engagement, and drives revenue.
You’ll lead the planning, deployment, and performance tracking of weekly MTTs and major seasonal series. From setting schedules and buy-ins to coordinating with product, marketing, and support, you’ll ensure every event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations.
The ideal candidate is obsessed with the details, understands what great looks like in online poker, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-trust, high-impact role — suited to someone who combines operational rigour with creative thinking, and who wants to help build the best tournament offering in the industry.
You’ll work alongside the Poker Room Manager and be supported by specialist and analyst roles to help scale and refine the tournament experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tournament Design & Scheduling: Plan, structure, and schedule a dynamic range of tournaments — from daily games to high-profile series — ensuring competitive formats, balanced structures, and optimal timing across player segments.
- Live Operations Management: Oversee tournaments in real-time, proactively resolving player issues, technical disruptions, and edge cases to ensure a seamless, professional experience.
- Promotional Planning & Execution: Work with marketing, design, and support to develop and deploy tournament-driven promotions and flagship events that drive acquisition, retention, and brand value.
- Performance Analysis & Optimisation: Track participation, overlays, ROI, and engagement trends. Leverage data insights to refine schedules, tweak guarantees, and maintain room profitability.
- Overlay & Risk Management: Monitor overlays and edge case performance weekly. Propose structural changes and guarantee adjustments to minimise inefficiency while sustaining player excitement.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with product, operations, and support teams to ensure tournaments are technically sound, accurately configured, and well-communicated across all channels.
- Series Planning & Ownership: Take the lead on major quarterly series (e.g. CSOP), managing all aspects from planning and promotions to performance review and reporting.
Highly Desired Knowledge and Experience:
- Deep knowledge of poker formats, structures, and player behaviour — with hands-on experience in tournaments across buy-in levels and variants.
- Proven track record in tournament planning, execution, or poker operations, with an understanding of liquidity, scheduling logic, and ecosystem dynamics.
- Confident with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel), able to handle data analysis, overlays, and performance tracking.
- High attention to detail and operational discipline — comfortable managing structured tasks and juggling multiple live projects.
- Strong written communication skills for internal documentation, promotion briefs, and tournament review reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally with product, marketing, and support teams.
- Curious mindset with an interest in poker room innovation, AI workflows, and continuous process improvement.
