Role Overview
Based in Smallfield (own transport preferred), this is a full-time role (45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00).
This role is responsible for ensuring picking lists are used so that the correct products are selected, loaded and unloaded in accordance with current procedures.
The role also ensures that the correct checking-in process is followed and that yard housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure working in a safe environment and that Company Health & Safety systems are followed.
- Ensure yard housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard.
- Ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
- Carry out repair work on non mech items as deemed necessary.
- Ensuring that repair costs are controlled.
- Report any stock issues to Hire Desk at earliest opportunity.
- Ensure vehicle movements are safe utilising banksman.
- Ensure Loads are safe for moving around the yard.
- Stacking and storing – ensure banding is suitable and stacking is in line with company policy.
- Follow current lift plans.
- Follow current RAMS for the yard area.
- Ensuring that loads are checked against picking lists to control deliveries and minimise incomplete loads.
- Ensure loading is carried out efficiently and promptly, to fully load in the evening wherever possible.
- Ensure loads are pre-slung properly, utilising the correct methods as dictated by the lifting plans.
- Liaising with transport department and Yard Supervisor, to prepare the following day loads.
- Report unsafe return loads.
- Ensure unloading is carried out efficiently and promptly.
- Complete returns check ins accurately, return to stock promptly.
- Segregation of equipment; Loads, Off hires, Damage / Repair / Scrap.
