We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join a major residential development in Sittingbourne. The development is split across three phases with six separate access points and is entering a period of significant growth. With large volumes of materials arriving daily, we require a highly organised individual who can take ownership of all site logistics, deliveries, and material coordination. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. You will work closely with the site management team, suppliers and delivery drivers to ensure materials are delivered to the correct areas of the project, at the right time, and in the correct quantities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all incoming site deliveries across multiple phases of the development.
  • Coordinate daily logistics activity across six site access points.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to understand upcoming material requirements.
  • Produce and maintain delivery schedules for all areas of the project.
  • Direct delivery vehicles to the correct locations within the development.
  • Track deliveries of materials including Aggregates, crush Shingle, Concrete products, Structural beams, Kerbs, Paving slabs, Drainage materials, and General construction materials.
  • Monitor quantities delivered against orders and requirements.
  • Record and manage part deliveries, ensuring outstanding quantities are tracked and delivered when required.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and stock information.
  • Identify potential shortages or logistics issues before they impact the programme.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure materials arrive in line with site requirements.
  • Ensure delivery routes, storage areas and unloading zones remain organised and safe.
  • Support the project team in maintaining efficient workflow across all phases of the development.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a Logistics Manager, Materials Coordinator, Site Logistics Manager or similar role within housebuilding, groundworks, RC frame or civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials and site operations.
  • Experience managing multiple work fronts and high volumes of deliveries.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and delivery tracking systems.
  • Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working closely with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience on large-scale residential developments.
  • Knowledge of groundworks and infrastructure materials.
  • CPCS/NPORS Traffic Marshal or Vehicle Banksman qualification.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
