ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handymen to join our team on a busy project in Harlow. Successful candidates will have proven experience in internal and external drainage, be able to read and interpret construction drawings, and hold a valid Forward Tipping Dumper ticket. You will be a skilled all-rounder, working within an established gang carrying out drainage, pipelaying, deep drainage and external works to a high standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installing and maintaining internal and external drainage systems
- Reading and interpreting site drawings, levels and specifications
- Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
- Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to the correct bed, surround and levels
- Ensuring pipes are tested and installed correctly throughout
- Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pumping equipment for the task
- Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
- Benching and constructing manholes
- Completing external works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
- Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
- Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections
- Operating a Forward Tipping Dumper where required
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid CSCS Groundworker Card or similar qualification
- Valid CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper Ticket
- Proven experience in internal and external drainage
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
- CAT & Genny Training
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
- Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Ride-On Roller
- Abrasive Wheels Training
- Face Fit Certification
- Harness Awareness Certification
- 5-10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
- Experience working within established gangs and teams
- Confined Space Ticket
