We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Topman to join our team. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership on site, overseeing drainage operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading and supervising a team of pipelayers and groundworkers
- Setting out levels, line and falls using drawings and laser equipment
- Overseeing the installation of drainage systems (clay, plastic and concrete)
- Installing manholes, chambers and associated drainage structures
- Ensuring correct alignment, gradient and quality of all pipework
- Coordinating with machine operators and site management
- Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
- Monitoring progress and resolving on-site issues
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations
- Supporting and mentoring team members on site
REQUIREMENTS:
- CSCS Skilled Worker Blue Card (essential)
- Confined Spaces Training
- CPCS or NPORS Slinger or Dumper ticket
- Proven experience as a Drainage Topman or Senior Pipelayer
- Strong understanding of drainage systems, levels and gradients
- Ability to set out and read technical drawings accurately
- Previous experience supervising small teams
- Good awareness of site health & safety practices
- Reliable, punctual and able to lead by example
- Right to work in the UK
