ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for experienced Pile Breaking Groundworkers to join our groundwork teams on projects across Greenwich, London.
You will be responsible for breaking and trimming piles to the required cut-off level, exposing and preparing reinforcement, and assisting with the preparation of pile heads for pile caps, ground beams and associated structural works.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pile breaking and preparation and be confident working accurately to levels and instructions from the Site Engineer and Foreman.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Breaking down and trimming concrete pile heads to the required cut-off level
- Using breakers, breakers attachments and hand tools to remove excess concrete
- Carefully exposing pile reinforcement without damaging the steel
- Ensuring pile heads are broken down cleanly and accurately to the required level
- Assisting with general groundwork activities when required
- Assisting plant operators and banking 360 machines and dumpers
- Keeping work areas safe, tidy and compliant with site rules
- Working as part of a gang to support programme delivery
REQUIREMENTS
- CSCS Groundworker card or equivalent, with proven site experience
- Previous experience in pile breaking, pile cropping or pile preparation
- Confident carrying out general groundworks tasks under supervision
- Able to follow drawings, levels and instructions from supervisors
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
- Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
- CPCS/NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper and/or Ride-On Roller
- CAT & Genny ticket
- Experience working on piling and RC frame projects
- Experience preparing piles for pile caps and ground beams
