We are seeking a dedicated skilled and self-sufficient Groundsman / Estate Maintenance Operative to care for and maintain three private residential estate sites to an exceptional standard. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, treats the grounds as if they were their own, and can work proactively with minimal supervision.
About the Role
Working across three private estates, you will spend approximately two days per site maintaining continuity and keeping clear track of ongoing works. You will be responsible for all aspects of grounds and garden care along with general estate maintenance tasks. This role requires a trustworthy proactive individual with a positive attitude and strong experience in groundskeeping, gardening, landscaping, or similar hands-on outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities
- Grounds & Garden Maintenance
- Lawn care: mowing, strimming, edging
- Hedge cutting (front and top facing)
- Weeding and keeping pathways weed-free
- Pruning, plant care, and seasonal garden tasks
- Leaf clearance and litter picking
- Flower and shrub maintenance
- Working collaboratively with other grounds/maintenance operatives
- Gutter clearing (including gutter hoover operation)
- Minor repairs: clips, gates, fencing, small fixes
- General upkeep and problem-solving across the estate
- Maintaining a clean tidy company van (daily inspections)
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of grass, flowers, trees, and seasonal requirements
- Experience as a groundsman, gardener, landscaper, or estate maintenance operative
- Self-sufficient and proactive, able to use initiative and think ahead
- A positive, reliable, trustworthy person
- Ability to work flexibly between 7am-5pm
- Comfortable working independently and showing pride in their work
- Confident collaborating with other grounds operatives
