We are looking for two experienced Skilled Groundworkers to join our drainage teams on a project in Sittingbourne. The role involves carrying out drainage and associated groundwork activities while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and workmanship. Candidates must hold valid Confined Spaces and Forward Tipping Dumper tickets and have experience working within drainage and excavation environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out drainage groundwork activities including pipe laying, ducting, manholes, chambers, and associated drainage works
  • Assisting with excavation, trench support, backfilling, reinstatement, and concrete works
  • Working safely within confined spaces in line with site procedures and safety regulations
  • Operating Forward Tipping Dumpers safely and efficiently around active work areas
  • Working safely around live services including electric, gas, water, and telecoms infrastructure
  • Following permit-to-dig systems, confined space procedures, and safe excavation practices
  • Supporting machine operators, supervisors, and drainage gangs to maintain site productivity
  • Using hand tools, small plant, and groundwork equipment safely and effectively
  • Reading and working from drawings, levels, and site instructions
  • Maintaining safe, clean, and organized working areas at all times
  • Following all site health & safety procedures and reporting hazards where required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in drainage and traditional groundworks
  • Valid Confined Spaces qualification (essential)
  • CPCS / NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper qualification
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Experience working within excavation and drainage environments
  • Good understanding of drainage installation and groundwork procedures
  • Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within site teams
  • Strong awareness of health & safety standards
  • Right to work in the UK

Note: to comply with client requirements, we can only accept NPORS cards that are CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram. If you do not currently meet this requirement, please still get in touch — we are happy to guide you through the transfer process.

  • EUSR / Cat & Genny qualifications
  • Experience on infrastructure and drainage projects
  • CPCS / NPORS Ride-On Roller
  • Experience working around live services
  • 5+ years’ groundwork and drainage experience
