Overview
Pipelayer / Drainage Gang (Pipelayer + Top Man) Join Coinford, specialists in groundworks and concrete frames, delivering high-quality residential and infrastructure projects. We’re looking for an experienced Pipelayer, ideally with a Drainage Top Man or established drainage partner, to join our teams on long-term projects offering real continuity of work. This role suits skilled drainage operatives who take pride in quality, safety, and getting the job done right first time.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and drainage details
- Set up and safely use trench boxes, drag boxes, and manhole boxes
- Confident use of pipe lasers for accurate line and level
- Lay concrete, clay, and plastic pipes of all sizes, ensuring correct:
- Bedding and surround
- Alignment and levels
- Testing and compliance
- Kerbs, edgings, slabs, and block paving
- Underground drainage
- Road build-up and formation
- Kerbing, slab laying, and block paving
- Hard and soft landscaping works
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipelayer on residential or infrastructure groundworks projects
- Confident working independently or as part of a drainage gang
- Strong understanding of drainage specifications and quality standards
- Commitment to safe systems of work and high-quality workmanship
Desirable
- Established pipelayer + drainage top man team
- Confined Spaces Qualification
- Additional CPCS/NPORS tickets (e.g. Dumper, Roller, Telehandler)
- 5-10+ years’ experience in skilled groundworks and drainage
General Expectations
- Valid CSCS Card
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Able to work effectively with site management, engineers, and other trades
- Support programme delivery and maintain site standards
- Right to work in the UK
