Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily risk assessment briefings and toolbox talks, ensuring safety standards are upheld.
- Supervise and support operatives, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to specification.
- Plan and coordinate site resources, including plant, equipment, and materials, to meet programme targets.
- Ensure safe excavation practices when working around buried services.
- Engage confidently with operatives to drive Quality, Health & Safety, and production standards.
- Interpret site programmes and translate them into practical work plans to meet deadlines.
- Oversee and manage sub-contractors to ensure compliance and performance.
- Maintain strong client communication and adopt a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Review and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate delivery of works.
- Apply expert knowledge across groundwork disciplines, including:
- Ground beams
- Drainage (deep, internal & external)
- Sub-structure concrete
- Roads and external works
- Oversite housing slabs
- Cut and fill earthworks
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience on housing plot sites, with emphasis on drainage and road works.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness of site operations.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- Proven record of programme delivery against set targets.
General Expectations
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all aspects of work.
- Collaborative approach – able to work effectively with other trades to meet programme requirements.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Completion of company IT induction and training within 1-3 months of employment.
