Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Groundwork Foreman to manage groundwork operations and lead gangs on a busy project in Swindon area. You will take responsibility for safety, quality and programme delivery across all groundwork elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring risk assessment briefings and toolbox talks are carried out
  • Managing operatives – ensuring all work is carried out effectively and in a safe manner
  • Expert knowledge across all groundwork elements including drainage, ground beams, sub-structure concrete, externals, roads and oversite slabs
  • Ensuring the correct plant and materials are on site to manage the programme of works
  • Ensuring correct and safe methods are in place when digging around buried services
  • Reading programmes set by site management and converting to working practices
  • Commercial awareness of site activities and management of sub-contractors
  • Excellent client communication and proactive problem solving
  • Completion of IT induction and training programme within the first 1-3 months

Requirements

  • CITB 5-Day SMSTS
  • CSCS Supervisor Qualification
  • First Aid at Work Certification
  • Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Excavator +/- 10t Tracked*
  • CPCS / NPORS* Forward Tipping Dumper
  • CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
  • CPCS / NPORS* Telehandler
  • Please note: to comply with client requirements, we can only accept NPORS cards that are CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram. If you do not currently meet this requirement, please still get in touch – we are happy to guide you through the transfer process.
