We are looking for a Groundwork Foreman to lead on-site activities, ensure safety and quality, and manage programmes of works with subcontractors and operatives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring risk assessment briefings and toolbox talks are carried out
- Ensure operatives are working effectively and in a safe manner
- Ensure the correct plant and materials are on site to manage a programme of works
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ensure the correct and safe method is in place when digging around buried services
- Engage with operatives to drive quality, health & safety and production standards
- Read programmes set by Site Management and convert to working practices to achieve target dates
- Expert knowledge in groundwork elements (ground beams, drainage, sub-structure concrete, externals, roads, oversite housing slabs, cut and fill earthwork activities, etc.)
- Commercial awareness of site activities
- Management of subcontractors
- Excellent client communicator and proactive approach
- Able to read drawings to understand build details
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work well with other trades and operatives to support the programme delivery on time
- Right to work in the UK
- Completion of the IT induction and training program within the first 1 to 3 months of employment
