Excavator Operator

Overview

Join Coinford, specialists in groundworks and concrete frames. We’re looking for an experienced 360 Machine Driver to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects. If you take pride in precision, safety, and well-maintained plant, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Dig strip foundations accurately and efficiently
• Deliver high-standard finishes (topsoil, levelling muck, type 1, crush, and road formation)
• Safely lift and work with trench boxes, manhole boxes, drag boxes, and trench sheets
• Read and interpret levels and drawings to specification
• Always obtain dig permits before breaking ground
• Work safely around live services using service avoidance techniques
• Complete daily pre-start plant inspections and maintenance checks, reporting requirements to site management
• Carry out greasing, basic maintenance, and ensure machines are kept clean and tidy
• Show respect for plant and maintain equipment to a high standard
• Work proactively and manage time effectively

Essential requirements

• Valid CPCS/NPORS 360 ticket
• Proven experience in groundworks and excavation
• Strong knowledge of site safety and working around live services
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work

Desirable

• Experience with GPS machine control systems
• Additional CPCS/NPORS tickets (Telehandlers, Dumpers, Rollers)
• 5+ years’ experience as a machine driver
