The Candidate
Based in Smallfield (own transport preferred), this office‑based role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by enhancing workforce capability, strengthening compliance standards, and optimising the organisation’s investment in training and development. You will play a key role in shaping a skilled, compliant, and future‑ready workforce within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Programme Management: Plan and coordinate a wide range of internal and external construction training programmes, including Health & Safety, CSCS/NPORS cards, and NVQs. Ensure all training is delivered efficiently, on schedule, and aligned with business and project needs.
- Compliance Oversight: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records, schedules, and databases for site operatives and staff. Monitor training attendance, engagement, and feedback to evaluate programme success and drive improvements. Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, standards, and mandatory certification requirements.
- CITB Grant & Funding Management: Take ownership of CITB grant applications, submissions, and reconciliations to maximise available funding. Maintain robust documentation and ensure full compliance with CITB requirements. Act as the subject matter expert and main point of contact for all CITB‑related activity, supporting the business in accessing funding opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement & Insight: Analyse training data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for enhancement. Stay informed on industry developments and CITB updates, implementing best practices to strengthen learning initiatives. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of training processes to improve efficiency and overall effectiveness.
Experience / Skills
- Proven experience managing CITB grant applications, submissions, and reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry training programmes, including CSCS, NPORS, and NVQs.
- Excellent organisational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
