We are seeking an experienced Foreman - Transportation Infrastructure to oversee and coordinate transportation infrastructure works on a busy project in Bristol. You will lead site gangs, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of highways and associated civil engineering works in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise site operatives, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Deliver transportation infrastructure works including highways, roads, drainage, utilities, and external/public realm works.
- Conduct risk assessment briefings, method statement briefings, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly when working in live or traffic-sensitive environments.
- Plan and coordinate plant, labour, and materials to meet programme targets.
- Ensure safe systems of work when excavating around buried services and utilities.
- Interpret construction programmes and translate them into daily site activities.
- Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure performance meets programme and quality expectations.
- Maintain clear communication with site management, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to maintain progress.
- Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 1–3 months.
Requirements
- 278 Works Experience a MUST.
- CITB SMSTS or SSSTS (depending on project requirements).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Safety Critical Medical (as required by site).
- Proven experience as a Foreman within transportation infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities, and external works.
- Experience working in live environments with traffic management considerations.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively with multiple trades.
- Right to work in the UK.
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Excavator (Tracked).
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper.
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Ride-On Roller.
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Telehandler.
Please note: NPORS cards must be CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram to meet client requirements. If you do not currently meet this, support can be provided to achieve compliance.
