Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.”

As an Analyst, Business Controller on the Business Controllers team within Coinbase's Accounting organization, you'll serve as Finance's "One-DRI" for product launches that have financial impact. This team acts as the central coordinator bringing together accounting, tax, treasury, credit risk, and operations to ensure new products launch without compromising financial integrity, audit readiness, or regulatory compliance. You'll evaluate new trade strategies and product launches across Coinbase's crypto product suite, determine impacts for Finance, and drive cross-functional implementation from scoping through go-live.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with finance stakeholders, business leads, and cross-functional teams to evaluate new trade strategies, determine finance requirements, and coordinate implementation across accounting, tax, treasury, and operations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business by navigating the Finance organization on their behalf, reducing friction in product launches, and ensuring the right stakeholders are informed and consulted at each stage.
  • Produce high-quality documentation of fund flows, key financial risks, and accounting treatment decisions, and deliver regular status updates to executive management.
  • Scope, design, and implement financial controls in partnership with business and process owners to address key risks and ensure operating effectiveness for audit and regulatory readiness.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and IT partners to automate manual processes and build scalable workflows that support Coinbase's growing product portfolio.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllership, with direct exposure to crypto exchanges, fintech, or financial services product operations.
  • CPA certification (or in progress) with a foundation in technical accounting, preferably including Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functionally across accounting, tax, legal, treasury, and operations teams to drive product launches from scoping through go-live.
  • Demonstrated experience scoping and implementing financial controls to address key risks in new or evolving business processes, including documenting fund flows and accounting treatment decisions.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
