Role Description
The Pizza Chef role is a full-time, on-site position based at Coia’s Cafe Restaurant in Glasgow. The Pizza Chef will prepare and cook a variety of pizzas to a high standard, including dough preparation, sauce making, topping selection, and oven management. Daily responsibilities include maintaining consistent quality and presentation, managing stock and ingredients, and coordinating with the wider kitchen team to support service during busy periods. The role requires strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, cleaning workstations and equipment, and following kitchen procedures. The Pizza Chef will contribute to menu development, support training of colleagues when needed, and help ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and high-quality food.
Qualifications
- Strong Food Preparation and Cooking skills, with a particular focus on pizza and Italian cuisine.
- Solid knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including portion control, ingredient handling, and stock management.
- Demonstrated understanding of Hygiene standards and safe food handling practices in a professional kitchen.
- Experience preparing and working with Sauces, doughs, and other core pizza components.
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar chef role in a busy restaurant environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage time well, and collaborate positively within a kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Relevant culinary training or certification is beneficial; a strong interest in Italian cuisine and continuous learning is highly valued.
