Job Summary

The Lead BI Analyst combines a deep understanding of business processes with strong storytelling, UX, and communication skills to create reporting experiences that drive informed decision-making and adoption.

They work alongside BI Developers and Analytics Engineers to ensure solutions are accurate, efficient, and aligned with business goals.

This role also owns the Business Insights Catalogue, maintaining visibility, consistency, and usability of published reports across the organisation.

The Role

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to transform business requirements into meaningful reporting and actionable insights.

Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you will design intuitive dashboards, deliver impactful analysis, and help drive data-informed decision-making across the organisation.

This role combines business partnering, analytics and visualisation, ensuring reporting solutions are user-focused, scalable and aligned with business priorities.

What you will be doing

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, business objectives and success measures.
  • Translate business needs into clear analytical requirements for BI Developers and Analytics Engineers.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data models and reporting structures support business needs.
  • Challenge and refine reporting requests to maximise business value and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Design engaging Power BI dashboards and visualisations that communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Apply data storytelling, usability and accessibility principles to create intuitive reporting solutions.
  • Prototype, test and refine dashboards with end users to ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to identify trends, opportunities and business performance drivers.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain the Business Insights Catalogue, ensuring reports are accurately documented with clear ownership and purpose.
  • Promote data literacy and encourage effective use of Business Intelligence tools across the business.
  • Deliver user demonstrations, training and ongoing support to maximise adoption of reporting solutions.
  • Gather user feedback and continuously improve dashboards and reporting capabilities.

About You

You are an analytical problem solver who enjoys working with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate data into valuable insights.

You have excellent communication skills, a passion for data visualisation, and the ability to create reporting solutions that enable informed business decisions.

You will also have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years' experience in business intelligence, analytics or a similar reporting role.
  • Strong experience using Power BI, including dashboard development, interactive reporting and data visualisation.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and delivering reporting solutions for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience promoting adoption of Business Intelligence tools and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Desirable experience includes

  • Understanding of business processes within manufacturing, operations or supply chain environments.
  • Experience defining KPIs and developing reporting that supports strategic business performance.
