Junior Buyer β Fixed Term 15 Months
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our Purchasing team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in procurement within a supportive team environment.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with experienced Buyers and support the day-to-day purchasing activities that ensure materials are delivered on time to meet business needs.
What you will be doing...
Supporting the team in running daily MRP reports and raising purchase orders
Assisting with the management of purchase requisitions, supplier quotations and order tracking
Monitoring stock levels and highlighting potential shortages to senior team members
Helping to track deliveries and update internal systems with order status
Supporting the coordination of materials for production and engineering teams
Assisting with basic supplier communication (e.g. order confirmations, delivery updates)
Maintaining accurate data within procurement systems (ERP/MRP)
Supporting the preparation of supplier performance reports
Assisting with administrative tasks such as updating supplier records and quote tables
Working with internal teams (e.g. engineering, QA) to help resolve basic supply issues
Providing general support to Buyers and Strategic Sourcing Managers as required
About You
- Some experience or exposure to purchasing, supply chain, or logistics (placement, internship or entry-level role)
- A basic understanding of MRP/ERP systems (training will be provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a procurement environment
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines with guidance from the team
